JON

Humans are a little gross. Why keep toilet topics hush-hush when it’s an experience all of us can relate to? At JON magazine we have an unfiltered discussion about all the quirks and spurts that public bathrooms have to offer.

  • Create a niche magazine tailored to a specific audience. The project involves researching, strategizing, designing, and producing all of the content, both visually and editorially, with a core emphasis on storytelling.

  • Introducing JON! A magazine designed for rebellious individuals and curious souls who seek out the gritty, divisive, and unconventional.

We embarked on a journey through 50 bathrooms across Calgary, taking photos while noting our findings and opinions of these spaces. From all of this data and visuals, alongside public stories and opinions, we curated content tailored for our curious readers who want the full scoop. Our magazine features discussions on sanitation, lost objects, personal experiences, and even personified bathrooms. You can bet there's something intriguing for every reader, even you.
